As I have blogged in Thai for a few posts, Izzy, a friend of mine, asked me to blog in English so that he can understand. In fact, I usually blog in English but those previous posts were kinda emotional stories and better to be expressed in Thai, sorry for that. Well, let’s get to our topic today, “Be simple as Web 2.0″ which is very special for me. First of all, what is web 2.0? Many of you know it much better that me, but some might not even have heard. The following is what I briefly explain to put you some ideas, if there are any mistakes please let me know.
Web 2.0 is refered to as an interactive website. Rather than retrieving information, users can interact with the pages like applications on their own computers. It is sometimes called web-based applications. Therefore, web 2.0 integrates many modern technologies to meet the requirements. For example, it provides rich, user-friendly interfaces using Ajax. Technologies for sever-side softwares also get concerned. Web 2.0 is also aimed to reduce internet traffic by reorganizing codes and data to make it more structural.
We, as web surfers, can be more familiar with client-side technologies than with server side. As I have been a web programmer for a few years, I find out that most often used client-side technologies are HTML/XHTML, CSS and JS. Of course, if you know how to write those languages, the rest would be the design (not mentioning the sever side here). Surprisingly, even though we do not define what web 2.0 should look like, it turns out that most of web 2.0 have a unique style and give some nice feelings at the first time you see, without having to notice if there are any other technologies behind them. It is so because the design of web 2.0 are influenced restrictively by some technologies, for example, CSS. As a result, they grow in a similar way and some people think that the word ‘web 2.0′ is just a design restricted under the use of resources, rather than technologies. Nonetheless, it does not much matter to add another meaning for the the term ’web 2.0′, doesn’t it?
Now, let’s get back to our story, you might be wondering what I mean by ‘Be simple‘. Even though web 2.0 by the definition can be complicated in your sense, it is really simple as I have told you that it is made more structural and well organized. In short, it is more interactive and powerful despite the simplicity we have. By now, you hopefully more or less understand what I mean ‘Be simple as Web 2.0′ - simple but powerful.
“Why do I talk about this today?” - another question coming up in your head, right? Well, this is one of my concepts for spending my life in the comming year, and I hope the number two and zero will remind me all the year to be simple but powerful. Eh? why can these numbers remind me? I let you think for a little while. Not yet? If you still cannot figure out why, highlight the text between the brackets [ You give up too early, try more they could be nothing else! ]
Before a new(?) life style starts in the next few hours, let me revise myself for this rare occasion about the past year.
- Were you healthy?
Of course not, I was weaker than that when I was in highschool. I have not kept my body fit for a year. As you could see that, I took lots of vitamins per day during the exam. Okey, I will exercise more this year (If I have enough time)
- Did you still love maths?
Yes I did and always do. I was willing to give people advice on maths as ever, especially for tutorials. Sadly for this year, I hardly touched maths at all, no chances to do so (bad accuse). Why am I doing like this?
- A little bit more wealthy?
Probably yes, I worked hard during October as a web programmer at vCharkarn.com, but I spent much money on books, clothes, and shoes. It should be totally, I guess, a bit well off - nice!
- What about love?
Oh, why do you ask me this question? It is really unpolite to me! (kidding krub). Sometimes you are better left alone, when you know that it is impossible or what you are going to do is considered a sin. Remember my words, ”Where there is a love, there is a sorrow”.
- What do you plan for the coming year?
I will live my life more carefully according to the Eightfold path. (Do you know what that is? ask Google!) - not sure if I can do it all year long ;-). Keep my life simple as said above. What else? I’ll tell you later.

Happy Birthday to Me !
